The project proposed by Akina Books aka Valentina Abenavoli and Alex Bocchetto provides for the creation of two artists’ books in a single copy. The point of departure is the exploration of the San Cipriano Picentino area through a research following the psychogeographical model. The main aim is to grasp the contradictions between nature and landscape altered by human intervention and collecting visual documentation that will be the outcome of such research. The project will then explore further alternative photographic printing techniques such as cyanotype and Van Dyke method. The photographs will be reproduced as digital negatives and then printed through direct contact with the pages. Objects and notes found in places can then be incorporated in the book to give back materiality contextual also to the idea of chance and human intervention. The books will be at the same time documentation of the territory and diary of the residency. The copies will be hand-bound.
